How festivals are social distancing amid the coronavirus pandemic – Business Insider


The festival was designed with coronavirus social distancing measures in mind — 480 people can attend each day, and groups of up to six people can book a pitch. A pitch is a spot on the field.

The pitches are shaped like hexagons, and they’re spacious enough for up to six people to stay six feet apart from one another, although it’s not required.

While festival-goers are not required to stay six feet apart from people in their own pitch, it is mandatory that they maintain distance from other groups. The pitches are about 8.5 feet apart from each other, organizers told the Evening Standard.
