France terror suspect Brahim Aoussaoui seen in smiling photo – New York Post

Nice terror suspect Brahim Aouissaoui is seen smiling in a photo taken in the Italian port city of Bari, where he arrived three weeks before his alleged attack at a French basilica, according to a report.

Tunisia native Aouissaoui, 21, arrived Oct. 8 after spending 20 days in coronavirus quarantine — first on the Italian island of Lampedusa and then aboard a quarantine cruise ship, the Daily Mail reported.

Aouissaoui spent most of his 15 days aboard the Rhapsody on the phone, talking about how he wanted to go to France, according to fellow migrants on the vessel, which was moored off the Bari coast, the outlet reported.

In addition to taking his photo, Italian authorities checked his name, date of birth and fingerprints — and his record came back clean, according to Italian media.

The following day, Aouissaoui was told he had no legal right to be in Italy and was ordered to leave the country within seven days — but rather than being deported, he was released, the Daily Mail reported.

He then made his way to Paris by train on either Oct. 9 or 10, allowing him to cross the border into France undetected, and stayed in the French capital until he took an early train to Nice on Thursday.

Shortly thereafter, he allegedly killed Simone Barreto Silva, 44, Vincent Loques, 55, and an unidentified 60-year-old woman in the horrific knife attack before he was shot and wounded by police.
