At least 27 people were displaced by a Thanksgiving morning blaze which broke out in a home on Washburn Street in New Bedford and spread to three apartment buildings.The preliminary investigation suggests that the blaze was started by someone attempting to deep-fry a turkey, officials said. Thick smoke filled the neighborhood as several homes caught fire around 10 a.m. Thursday.
