The Iowa Department of Public health on Saturday reported 423 new COVID-19 positive tests and 19 additional deaths.At 10 a.m., the health department reported 394,820 total positive tests, 347,713 total recoveries and 5,950 total deaths since the start of the pandemic. Twenty-four hours earlier, the health department reported 394,397 total positive and 5,931 total deaths.Iowa reports 2,338,949 COVID-19 vaccine doses have been administered and 1,064,147 individuals have completed the vaccine series.Iowa’s 14-day positivity rate is at 3.8%, and the 7-day average is now 3.7%. Health department data shows 4,816,518 total tests have been administered. There are now 189 patients hospitalized with COVID-19, down from 191 the previous day. Iowa reports 44 patients in ICU and 18 patients on ventilators.One of Iowa’s long-term care facilities reports an active COVID-19 outbreak. The health department reports 18 positive cases and 16 recoveries among residents and staff within those facilities.
